The pipeline is in the ground, backfilled and done. Now comes the task of restoring the land.

This is Boot Wood, an Ancient Woodland, awaiting replanting by specialists of all the hornbeams lichens and plants saved when the line came through.

This was graded and sent to a crusher

The crushed stone was used to relay footpaths and farm roads

And every trace of litter collected

The subsoil is broken up, remember it has been getting compacted by 40 tonne machines for the past few months

The topsoik is carefully spread back

New fences and gates go in on all the crossings, and when the winter comes, new hedging and trees.
